ABOUT NO FRET
No Fret Guitar Camp is based on the bible verse Matthew 6:25 which says "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?"
We exist to bring the gift of music and the joy of Christ to children and teens in low-income situations.
The Goal
Our goal is to evangelize to low income teenagers through providing the gift of music. We aim to do this through a few objectives:
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
-
Utilize free guitar lessons as a tool of evangelism to teenagers.
-
Utilize the power of music to demonstrate the love of Christ.
-
Demonstrate the unselfish love by providing the lifetime gift of music to those who could not otherwise afford it.
SECONDARY OBJECTIVES
-
Help create the next generation of student worship leaders.
-
Test/Demonstrate the multi-cultural appeal of guitar-based worship.
How We Do It
This mission offers a free Christian beginners guitar camps for six students at a time.
The camps themselves are two hours a day for five days. Volunteer leaders are trained and provided with materials and techniques that have been proven to be effective. The music goal is to have every student successfully playing guitar in only five days. This may seem daunting, but based on actual experience it really is possible. The students learn a minimum of four basic chords with which they will be able to play literally hundreds of songs. They will learn appropriate secular songs (for example, Lean On Me) and contemporary praise and worship songs.
A major “WOW” feature is that through the support of our donors, every student will receive a full-size guitar as a gift upon completing the course.
